FAQ's about CHIC 2018:

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF CHIC?

There’s nothing like CHIC! CHIC is the only conference that gathers students from across the Evangelical Covenant Church in one place for a time of worship, transformation, and fun. CHIC acts as a catalyst in students’ lives, helping them see the big picture of God’s kingdom and inspiring them to dive deeper in their faith together.

WHO MAY ATTEND CHIC?

High school students are eligible to attend CHIC if they will complete grade 9, 10, 11, or 12 in the 2017-2018 school year. TO WHOM SHOULD THE REGISTRATION CHECK BE WRITTEN?

Make payments directly to Kingdom Builders Covenant Church for all registration fees.

WHAT SORT OF SUPERVISION CAN I EXPECT?

The leaders from Kingdom Builders Covenant Church are the first point of supervision for our students. Like most camps and retreat centers, we attempt to provide a healthy balance between supervision and freedom. It is mandatory for students to be at meals, base camps, and MainStage and in their dorms at lights out. During the afternoon, students will have some freedom with the activities they choose, but the boundaries of where they can go will be clear.

Security and supervision for youth at CHIC includes:

• The leaders from our church

• The University of Tennessee security team

• CHIC volunteer security team

• Each dorm has a security team led by the dorm, a resident supervisor, and a conference point person

WHAT ARE THE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS?

Each conference is assigned one or more dormitory based on size. Each room will house two to three students. Adult leaders will be in rooms next to their students. Every dorm will have alternating floors for guys and girls.

WHAT KINDS OF OFF-CAMPUS ACTIVITIES WILL YOU OFFER?

CHIC Excursions seek to offer students fun and adventurous activities that will enhance their CHIC experience. By facilitating activities that may be outside of students’ normal routines back home, our hope is that the memories that they make on excursions will be woven into the tapestry of the once-in-a-lifetime event that is CHIC.

Excursion examples include: • White Water Rafting • Cave Tours • Underground Lake •             • Mountain Biking • Horseback Riding • Paintball

Excursion registration opens January 2018. Prices for excursions range from $10 to $75 per student. Excursion options and fees are subject to change.
